Diet? Not me! |
|
If you are ask me "diet" is a dirty word, and the English language would fair just as well without it. You will never hear me promote the concept of dieting. I hold the strong belief that every woman is beautiful whether they are skinny or not. There will be some of you that are reading this and thinking that "hey... some diets do work". My point is that while this is true to some extent, the reality is that you can't stay on them for very long and a lot of these diets can compromise your health. I admit that I have tried lots of different diets (which is why I feel I can speak with some authority, on the subject) I have tried the soup diet ,the no carbs diet, the meat only diet. All of which are totally unsustainable on a long term basis. I have even changed to a healthy lifestyle diet that is actually a healthy option, eating a sensible combination of protein, carbs and grains. But even this requires a lot of effort and planning. Your life has to be "on track" for this diet to work. You know no problems at work or boyfriend hassles. No family dramas or tragedies. But life is not like that and eventually one of life's little dramas will pop up and back come the old routines and comfort eating habits. The rollercoaster feeling that goes with this on off dieting lifestyle is just not worth it. So what is the solution to this dieting dilemma? The solution is a simple one... Instead of trying to conform to what society's thinks is the right body size and shape, it's time that we just accept ourselves and all our curves and love ourselves and the body we live in. Life is a wonderful journey and on the way we should focus on what' important and make good choices. It's not necessary to deprive ourselves of the little pleasure giving things, like a little bit of chocolate...a piece of birthday cake or that take-home pizza night or glass of bubbly! The trick is to not over indulge and make little wise food and exercise choices everyday so that they become the routine and the little treats are the exception to the rule. |
