Only recently have I begun to appreciate the internet, the ability to communicate with people on the other side of the world almost instantaneously is a feat that many would have thought impossible less than a decade ago. The main benefit of my recent discoveries has been my ability to interact with people such as myself, plus size people. For virtually all my life I have been the butt of other people's jokes because of my size and appearance. Big women don't have it easy and having little or no choice as to what I was able to wear didn't help either. I'm here to tell you that things have changed. I don't have to wear tent shaped dresses, I don't have to compromise on style because I happen to be a big woman because I have found that there are online stores out there that cater for larger sized women and they carry a whole range of contemporary styles. By networking, sitting and chatting in forums as well as reviewing many, many articles I have found that there is a whole new world waiting for me. I don't have to compromise size for fashion and am beginning to learn the various pointers that can help me become more comfortable in my appearance and eventually my confidence while wearing plus size clothing. Although I'm not there yet, this new world is an amazing place to explore and I know that with everything I've learnt, all the knowledge I've gained, I'll be able to walk outside without any fear of being laughed because I wear larger sized clothing and know I look beautiful. I want to thank the many people out there who are like me and are sharing their knowledge with others like me. I am not alone, you are not alone and there will come a time when we'll be without fear, in all our plus size glory. |
