Plus size fashion for the teenage girl |
|
I am the mother of three teenage daughters. Their ages are 14 16 and 18. Each one of my daughters loves fashion and wouldn't dream of wearing anything but the latest look of the season. Each one of my daughters is a plus size girl. They have always had fuller figures. They have my genes so I am in a perfect position to know what it feels like to be a plus sized female who loves fashion but finds that the choices for you are limited to say the least. One of the most fantastic things about women's clothing today is the way the looks lend themselves to all figures including plus size. In recent times there has been a marked improvement on the availability for plus size fashion. I watched my 18 year old struggle with diets and fads to try and bring her weight down while trying to maintain a healthy outlook all because she couldn't find trendy plus size fashion that suited her fuller figure not to mention her age. As her sister got older things began to improve but by now the world has finally caught up with the plus size female fashion victim (all 3 of my girls). They love their bodies and understand that they have a fuller figure and that plus size fashion is for them. And today they have choices in shopping centers and on the internet. All three of them can get together with all their girlfriends and shop because now fashion designers either include larger sizes in their range or make a special range in plus size from 14 +. To see all three girls borrowing each other's clothes seems normal to me now but it seems like yesterday that they hardly owned anything to share. Now they are like any other girls their age when it comes to fashion.
