Plus size models are making a positive move |
|
Some years ago the thought of a plus size model walking the catwalk was unthinkable. Designers only wanted very thin models wearing their clothes and magazines only advertised fashion using slender and slim models. Well, thanks to a changing world and some very beautiful and confident curvaceous women, the stereo type that all models must be slim is certainly changing. Just recently in Britain, a plus size model entered a beauty pageant alongside a host of conventional beauties and was accepted and welcomed, not only by the judges and contestants but also by the greater community. In the United States of America, the popular show, America's Next Top Model, hosted by super model Tyra Banks, crowned a gorgeous, plus size woman as their top model. Wow! That would never have happened 5 years ago, let alone 1 year ago. Times are definitely changing and those who have an influence and great say in the fashion and modeling industry have come to the realization that plus size is normal and wearing larger sizes no longer means you can't be beautiful and desirable. Changes like this will encourage all plus size women to embrace their bodies and makes way for even greater plus size fashions for the normal, fuller figure woman. Not only that, but plus size models with a high profile will have such a positive impact on young teenager girls who constantly battle with their changing bodies. Plus size women's fashions are now more and more accessible and have become extremely stylish and of high quality. The fact that plus size models are becoming more in demand only means greater things for the plus size fashion industry. Finding larger sizes when shopping means more women will have the opportunity to enjoy even more fabulous fashions.
