Shopping with the girls |
|
Women have mastered the art of making a day out shopping with the girls. We drop the kids off to school and meet at our favorite mall to have coffee, shop a little, do lunch, shop some more then go off to pick the kids up from school. It's a time for girly talk, family talk and catching up on the latest gossip. Here's the rub....many of our group wear plus size fashion. So while there is never a shortage of shops to visit for some of the women... there a distinct lack of plus size stores that specialize in plus size fashion and hardly any at all that carry bigger sizes in their normal fashion range. As a result of this the day can sometimes be a little disappointing for those of us that wear plus sized fashion...emphasis on the word fashion. But I do love those days together at the Mall ... but the world is changing and technology has made a new kind of shopping available.....Internet shopping. A new event among my group of friends has begun and it's becoming a very popular idea. Instead of meeting at the mall we meet at someone's house armed with a lap top (usually one that belongs to a spouse or one of the kids) We still have the coffee and do lunch but the shopping is online and the plus size women among us have as big a choice of shopping sites as everyone else's he really cool thing is that the plus size girls can focus on plus size sites, so that they don't have to look longingly at fashion that they can't have. It's a hoot! There always lots of laughter and a little competitiveness among us to see who can find the newest sites. We shop online and the next time we meet we bring what we bought that day and have a mini fashion parade that includes the larger gals as well... no one is left out. We still go to the mall but threes a new way to shop and it suits the plus sizes among us a little better |
