Why is it so? |

Clothing and confidence go hand in hand. Find the right piece of clothing and you begin to believe in yourself and your ability to shine. If this is the case why does the fashion industry make it so hard for normal people and plus size people to find clothing suitable to their shape and size in larger sizes? How many waif thin flesh draped skeletons do you know? The unfortunate reality is that the perception of beauty does not allow for plus size people, so we have to make do with tips and tricks rather than the ability to chose anything straight of the rack. Plus size clothing is getting easier to find however. Looking at fabrics and style cuts, we have to be dress making experts in order to find Plus size clothing that gives us a little bit of decency, as opposed to the mass manufactured slim fitting clothes that squeeze us in the wrong places and make us bulge and pop out in others. For years we have suffered the indignation and scorn of others simply because stylish and fashionable clothing has been out of our reach for so long through no fault of our own. How many times have people stared at you with the "I can't believe they're wearing that" look on their faces? People are often critical of plus sized women simply because of how they look in clothes and this is why we come up with tips and tricks to hide or disguise ourselves. You're not alone and with the world becoming a smaller place, we are beginning to have more access to clothes that complement our size and shape without compromising on fashion and style. Thankfully we have come to a point where businesses have realized that not all the world is made up of stick insects posing as people but is in fact made up of normal people who are looking for something to wear comfortably. Take note that comfortable does not mean loose or casual but it means wearing something that feels good plus size or not, that looks good and allows you to express yourself without shame or prejudice.
